I realise you are using a 2.6.x kernel, but for about 10 months I've been
running a HA configuration consisting of 2 servers each with dual Xeon CPUs,
ipvs_syncmaster/ipvs_syncbackup on 2.4.29 and have not experienced this
problem. Prior to kernel 2.4.29 I had manually applied the same patches that
provide the ability to have master/backup sync daemon on the same server.
