I have argued in a different thread on the lvs list that this is your
application's fault. Your application must be able to respond to the
failure of a dependency. If it did, you could easily use ldirectord to
fulfill your needs.
My impression is that this patch is the wrong solution to a
non-problem. Sorry if this sounds drastic, but you have not (to my
knowledge) answered several postings in the other thread and have not
yet discussed alternatives. Please do before proposing a patch.
Ldirectord is a very sensible piece of software needed by thousands of
users. We should be very careful in extending it to keep it
maintainable.
