ah well.... I guess I was hoping too much. Still, I might run some tests on
Apache backend.

It's just I liked LVS because it seemed to have everything bundled together.

That was what I was afraid of. I don't suppose you know of any figures
showing what kind of load a load balancer (of a given spec) can handle using
L7?

I'm thinking of another possibility, which might be to share the cookie
store using NFS between the servers... but this thought scares me. Still...
it could be fun to see what happens!
