the main thing is the ordering of real servers.  sometimes I'm looking for a
particular one and it takes a bit to find one, especially with 30+ listed.

No. But, ipvsadm on kernel 2.4 can list a service only by
        ipvsadm -L [-n] -t|u|f service-address

I wonder if it is necessary to list each service in ascending/descending
order, although it is do-able. In most applications, there are few
virtual
services at a load balancer.
