Hi,
You can set up LVS such that one of your Real Servers is the Linux
Director. This host will direct traffic to itself and the other servers.
You can even do fail-over by electing one of the Real Servers as a
secondary Linux Director. This host will act as a normal Real Server while
the master Linux Director is active, and assume the additional role of load
balancing if the master becomes unavailable
Hope that helps.
