snmp trap generation

I haven't seen much out there about sending traps in the lvs world.  Particularly, from the lvs box, mon, heartbeat, or keepalived.  Unless I missed it, mon can receive traps, but not send them... am I lost in the fog here and not seeing something right in front of me?    If you've got any document pointers, I'd be most appreciative.
