unless you need stonith, just install it with --nodeps.
but i would really urge you to not use 8.0 as a server platform just yet - i
had been bitten by way too many problems - i guess it is a problem with
every X.0 redhat release. By the way, the latest kernel for 8.0 could give
you split brain problems with heartbeat - there is a thread on the linux-ha
list about this, and a bug open in redhat's bugzilla. The only stable
solution is to use 7.3 with the 2.4.18-10 kernel - the one before the latest
errata kernel.

Subject: Hearbeat on RedHat 8.0?
I currently have an LVS director working under RedHat 8.0
(unmodified). I now would like to get director failover working.
My attempts at installing the hearbeat rpms are plagued with
failed dependencies which I can't seem to resolve
(i.e. heartbeat-stonith-0.4.9.2-1 looking for libsnmp-0.4.2.3.so
when I have libsnmp-5.0.1 on my system and can't find libsnmp-0.4.2.3.so
anywhere).
Has anyone installed hearbeat on RedHat 8.0? Any ideas?
Frustrated as hell!!!
Thanks,
Jon
