What I understand or heard is that RH will support upgrades to RH Linux 7.3 for about 8 more months, then that will be it. So, they have a few more months to make 8.x or 9.x the standard. It remains (to me) to be seen what kernel they will put on their Advanced Server (AS) distribution vs. their workstation distro.
