It sounds like you have some dangling symlinks for some reason.
Try removing them and re-running Configure.
Also, quiestions relating to hearbeat are usually
better asked on the linux-ha or linux-ha-dev mailing lists,
which would be better named heartbeat and heartbeat-dev.
