hostname about server

Hello,

I am trying to installed heartbeat on the two servers, some software 
packages on the client nodes must keep the hostname of the server in their 
configuration file, so it is necessary for the primary server and backup 
server keep the same hostname, but heartbeat need two servers have different 
hostname.
How can I do that, can somebody  provide me some suggestions?
