Thanks for the replies. They helped me rule out the LVS director as the
cause of my woes. I eventually found that I had an old long-forgotten
cron job running writing every minute to a log file that had grown to
approx 2.5 gigs and was affecting NFS services. That LVS is truly
amazing!
