NICs are really cheap, so you can have as many
as you like.
I like having a separate
NIC for each network to keep the traffic separate.
Filter rules are easier to write etc and security
is easier to implement. The network with the RIPs
can be all open while the NICs facing the outside
world can be bolted down really tight.
