First stable version of LVS

Management is interested in the history of LVS. I was looking at the
software download section and was trying to figure out when the first
stable version of lvs was released.

I can see an ipvs patch 0.8 for kernel 2.0 was released in march of
1999. Is that the first official stable version? 

If not then does anyone know which one is the first stable version?

If it is the stable version then does anyone know when the first
unstable (Alpha code) was released?
