We've had problems like this before, all with multiport protocols
eg identd, rshd (and ftpd, but we knew what was going on there).
The problem has been that the realservers are doing something 
(e.g. making calls) that you aren't aware of. These things are
taken for granted and it's only when you put the protocol inside
LVS that you have to find out what's really going on. You're going
to have to debug the connection, eg by watching tcpdump etc
to see where the unaccounted for packets are going. I don't know
what's going on with the file access problem
