Hi Simm,

We use LVS in our Ad Serving & analytics platform, serving more than half a 
billion requests every day.  We never had LVS specific issue in our 
environment. Just make sure you are using high end network card and switch on 
the hardware side. LVS will keep chugging along as your traffic grows. We use 
LVS in "direct server [DR] return mode".
