Occasionally, we have seen periods where the monitoring server (opennms) will
report that it can't get to SSH on any of the VIPs that are hosted on our LVS
clusters. We have several clusters and it seems that at once all of them will
be unresponsive. We've only seen this happen with SSH and none of the other
services like http.
Of course, the ssh configuration is set to listen on all Ips which is why it's
responding to checks.
We're running piranha actually but we're using DR for routing.
Are there any special needs for an LVS server configuration wise? Ie should all
the non loadbalanced services be set to "listen" only on the LVS servers
primary IP?
I'm sorry if I'm not being 100% clear about my issue. It's not a big deal
currently but we do feel that it has potential to clutter mailboxes and of
course valid alerts could be lost as well.
Thanks!
