I'm not quit understand how I can use the same method for my case.
As I have detailed below I have no virtual server but only one primary server
and a backup server which are at different networks
Can you elaborate this with a sample example

Oh, sorry, I didn't pay enough attention to the question.
The only thing that comes to my mind is dynamic (being set only on
primary fail) IP alias in the primary server's network router with
dynamical masquerading, which will redirect requests to backup server.
But in this case IPVS is not needed...
