Hello Wensong,

I just tested ip_masq_ftp.o of kernel 2.2.19 (or later), it works with
ipvs. The active mode of FTP always works without loading ip_masq_ftp.o, but the passive mode of FTP need loading ip_masq_ftp.o with in_ports=21 (modprobe ip_masq_ftp in_ports=21).

That means Tony's code isn't needed, right? I'm just asking because I'm sure that Joe would like to but some words into his HOWTO and I'm sure he would ask exactly this question.

I used to make ipvs 1.0.9pre2 for kernel 2.2.20 in April, it is available
at http://linux-vs.org/~wensong/ipvs-1.0.9-2.2.20pre2.tar.gz. It is easy
for me to make a new 1.0.9pre version against kernel 2.2.22 based on that
pre2.

Ok, sounds fair. To be honest, I completely forgot about the 1.0.9pre2 ;)

For future versions of ipvs for kernel 2.2.xx, you are welcome to fix bugs, generate the diff, make release candicates, etc.

Ok, after thinking about it for a little while I guess you're right. New 2.2.x kernel releases are rare and the demand for bleeding edge 2.2.x kernel patches has dropped anyway. And if you're not too busy doing those patches than everything is fine.

Thank you and best regards,
Roberto Nibali, ratz
