Has anybody done anything clever about data-synchronization in conjunction
with LVS? A web farm of 10-100 servers is great, but only if the right
data gets put out at the right time.
Some thoughts I have had are to use NFS with most boxes mounting
it read-only and only one writing the content out. This led to
the thought that I need a reliable NFS server (disregarding current
Linux issues with NFS). Has anybody done any work with using LVS
to load balance file service (using multiported FCAL drives or
something like that)? How about Samba for that matter - it seems
to me that clustered SMB service would be quite useful for many
organizations.
I have looked at the LVS web page (as well as TurboLinux, UltraMonkey,
Redhat Pirahna, Linux-HA, etc) - if I missed something obvious please
let me know.
