yes any service can be LVS'ed. If the clients are writing to the server
disks then you have to think a bit.

simplest and most common case.

pirahna is a RedHat product to do failover of LVS directors.

One of the LVS developers (Horms) has produced an HA 
solution called Ultramonkey
