assuming you're getting the expected throughput...

This is pretty much what I see too. My explanation for it is that once
the hit has been served, and the connection closed down, the connection goes 
into the inactive state. There it takes 2mins (approx, forget exact
time) to time out. If it takes 0.1 sec to handle the hit, 
then only 0.1/120 =0.1% of your connections are going to be 
active at any time.

ipvsadm used to show accumulated connections back in the stone age of
LVS, but it hasn't done this for a while (although it might be useful to have
back)

the connections are being handled so fast, that they've gone before
you look at them :-)
