2.2 vs 2.4

I believe that most administrators with high work load are still using the
2.2 Series Kernel, few have yet taken the time to dive into the 2.4 series,
largely due the to, "if it's no broke don't fix it," type of logic. When in
comes to implementing a fresh deployment of the LVS and engineer is going to
want to select a configuration that will serve as the best long term
solution. Logically it would seem that if one were doing a new
implementation you should use the latest stable versions available. With the
LVS I don't know that that is in fact important, as I see little benefits,
can anyone clarify why someone who is not all that familiar with the 2.4
series kernel would choose it to use it for the LVS needs?

I see a few obvious answers to this question;
IPChains vs IPTables / Net filters
The ARP "issue"
The 2.4 Series LVS will eventually mature beyond the 2.2 Series (most
likely)

Any thoughts?
Thanks, Mike
