Wow - you solved my problem. I have been trying to alias the wrong
way. Stupid me! Thanks.

Does ifconfig version 1.42 support aliases? I haven't been able to
properly set them and I think that is the root of the problem that I
have been running into with the rc.lvs_nat script. If anyone knows how,
could they let me know the command.
ifconfig does support aliases; it has been a while since that didn't work.
What kind of error message do you receive if you do "ifconfig eth0:0
192.168.1.2" for example?
Is your kernel compiled with alias support enabled?
