Thanks Peter -
I actually was wondering the same thing and just changed gate to masq and
everything works beautifully.

I'm still not certain what "gate" really means. I always thought it had
something to do with how many hops away the destination realserver was...
Example configs show "gate" with no number, and I've always used 1 in my
setup(s). Maybe changing this value to 1 or "gate" would do the trick.
service=http
request="/.testpage"
receive="test page"
Try taking out request/receive and restarting ldirectord. Try running
"testpage" in request instead of "./testpage", which apache might view as
an
illegal directory request.
It accurately detects if http is running on my real servers and will
update ipvsadm when a real server goes down or up.
If the above suggestions don't help I think you will need to tcpdump your
director & real servers and see what's really going on.
cheers
Peter
