I know that the expire time is suppossed to be shown as MM:SS.xx but in my
case xx counts down 1 /sec.

AS already said by Joe, your persistence timeout is 10sec. So my guess
is you're not reading the figures the way they should be. It's not
HH:MM.ss but MM:SS.xx which makes a lot more sense in your case :)
