All
I think it is working. I was used to seeing the weight increase slowly
when a new server comes back on line, so it must have been handled
outside of ipvsadm. What I read now is ipvsadm handles it itself when
you change the weight. I noticed when I brought the new server online
and the weight was still 0 that traffic started to be sent to it, but
only a little. I then put the weight back up to 1000 and I will assume
that even though the weight was shown as 1000 it was being gradually
brought up.
Can anyone say what the correct procedure should be for rebooting real
servers *gracefully* using ldirectord? I started by putting the weight
to 0 but am unclear if I need to do anything after bringing the service
back up, if anything.
Thanks for the pointers.
Graham

As the person writing all this up, I thought that LVS
had slow start from the very beginning, then I found
several years later that it didn't, and then I thought
Horms put it in, but I'm not sure now. I've written
about its appearance and disappearance in the HOWTO.
If you found that it's still not there, then it isn't
I guess
Horms, do you know if LVS has slow start?
