responsibility for have the "noatime" mount option set on several EXT3
filesystems (/var, /home, /tmp).
It's the "access" time which is turned off - not modification. Our
incremental backups run perfectly well with this, and we get oodles
more performance out ofr these filesystems than with it switched on.
It's particularly useful for MySQL databases and directories containing
dynamic data on shared webservers.
