Didn't I see somewhere that you set the TCP timeout on the director to
30mins?
Therefore you would expect gazillions of inactive connections to stay on
the director for at least 30 mins (as the director never sees the return
packets to close the connection).
My conclusion is that the only implication of
assigning a realserver weight 0 is that SYN-request from a new client
will not be sent to the realserver, but all other types of IP-packets
will be sent there. Is this somewhere near to the truth?
until the tcp timer expires yes.
Do all of the connections close on the director after the 30 mins?
