Hi,

As I am looking into the possibility to setup a small LVS loadbalanced
webcluster with 4 webservers I wondered.

- The one example in real life I experienced and co-administered with LVS
was working very well, 2 Loadbalancers (Active/Standby(failover)) and a lot
of Real Servers
- every example I see is with a separate LVS Active/Standby (failover)
configuration on 2 machines and several other different real servers

Could it be possible? or is it possible? (has someone used it in real life?)
to setup the LVS Loadbalancing in one machine with another standby(failover)
machine and using the same machine(s) as realservers at the same time (with
a different NIC (virtual or real)).

I am asking this to save resources on a not that busy webcluster to create,
instead of 6 machines I only have to buy 4 if this configuration works.

But as I do not see it anywhere, I am not sure if it will work, which
caveats are there and does someone know special conditions or requirements?
Or does someone know for sure it doesn't work at all!

Regards,

Marcel
