If linux-vs.org was to host precompiled binaries for LVS it (we) would also need to face the consequences and provide support for them. I do not think that people are willing to do that. Besides, legal issues might arise as other open source projects (mplayer.sf.net pops up) have shown to struggle with when providing pre-compiled binaries.

Other than that I agree with Joe and Lars.
