Pirahna, Ultra Monkey, any others?

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to the world of HA, and just joined this list today.  I'd 
like to state up front that I'm rather confused about what is needed to run an 
HA LVS system.  From what I've gathered so far, what I need is:

        - ipvs kernel patch 
        - mon/fping
        - Period.pm

OR      Pirahna

OR      Ultra Monkey.

Is this correct?  Am I missing something?

Are Pirahna and UM really the same thing just different (which is what I 
gathered from the list archive discussion)?

Is there more sw I need than what I listed above if I *don't* want to use
either Pirahna or UM?

P.S.    I'm trying to set up an HA-LVS environemt, and plan on documenting my 
        efforts in HOWTO form using LyX and the linuxdoc format.  If
        interested, I will gladly post my efforts here to be posted on the
        website.
