Servername should ideally be set to the reverse dns of the VIP (or what
you would like the reverse dns of the VIP to have been)
what if instead of the name of the VIP, I surf to the actual IP?
I'm not for certain, but I believe that when you surf to a
http://123.123.123.123/ url, the Host: header is not filled in for the
HTTP request (i could be wrong) in which case, the web server is
supposed to serve the first virtualhost entry, or the virtualhost that
matches Servername.
There is no device with the VIP on the VS-NAT real-server. Does
there need to be one? Will an entry in /etc/hosts that maps the VIP
to the public name do?
Don't think so.
