Thanks again Dr Mack for your help.
One more thing, any idea why my apache realserver IP (On the same machine)
cannot be brought up? It's ip address is 10.80.1.41 and the VIP will be
10.80.1.40, but is not yet live. (I want apache running under lvs_dr even
though there will only be one realserver at this time, because I know I
will be growing to more servers in the future and I don't want to have to
take it down to add more in the future).
Whenever I try to bring up the realserver IP (which is on the same NIC) I
get the error "SCOICFLAGS: cannot assign requested address". I have not
yet tried configuring the VIP or ipvs for this ip address yet.

It's a feature. You can add it back if you like,
but I don't want it to be on my hands, so it's not in the code.
