Hi,
Sorry for not being able to respond earlier. So - this is what I have done:
I get kernel-source-2.4.9-38.s390.rpm (freshrpms). This kernel ha
s, for some reason, the following ipvs patches:
Patch5800: linux-2.4.2-ipvs.patch
Patch5810: linux-2.4.5-ipvsfix.patch
Patch5820: linux-2.4.5-ipvs-0.8.1.patch
Patch5830: linux-2.4.9-ipvs-0.8.1-to-1.0.0.patch
(from the SPEC file).
Yes I saw that too.
Furthermore, I get ipvsadm-1.20-7.src.rpm, modify the SPEC file slighty,
and succeed in building ipvsadm. I have not been able to test the procedure
that Alex recommends, but I am pretty sure that it also would work on s390.
Little sidenote: I talked to IBM Switzerland yesterday and they promised to give
me a root account on a s/390's VM to do kernel development. As soon as I can log
in I will hack away. If someone has a VM account for the zSeries it would be
even cooler :).
I now have IP Virtual Server version 1.0.0 and 2.4.9-37 (s390/RedHat) and
it loads beautifully.
Yes, but we would like to have an up to date working version.
If nobody sees a problem with this I think I will run with it.
Check back with the Changelog of future releases of ipvs-* to see if there was
anything crucial fixed that could affect your system setup.
Best regards,
Roberto Nibali, ratz
