So you're running LVS_DR?

machine is Athlon XP 1500MHz, 1GB RAM, caching 200MB only (yes, i have a
reason) and squid takes about 70-90% of procesor, load about 2.5, but it's fast
enough.

That's user space load. What about idle time? slabtop? ...

This is a rather moderate usage for LVS. We're doing bonded GB/s load balancing right now and if my old laptop had GB NICs it would probably be enough to load balancing incoming web traffic :).
