As this isn't strictly LVS-related, I suggest you spend some time reading:

http://www.rpm.org/RPM-HOWTO/build.html

The condensed version would be:

1. vi /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/perl-ldap.spec
2. Change the version number so that it is NOT related to Horm's scheme
3. rpmbuild -ba /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/perl-ldap.spec
4. Address missing deps, errors etc
5. Repeat (3), (4) until clean
6. Install the generated RPM.

Start ldirectord, then go and subscribe to the O'Reilly Safari Bookshelf - http://safari.oreilly.com/ - and read up some Linux sysadmin books!
