Subject: [lvs-users] Why have heartbeat manage ldirectord?

Hello:

According to this page:
http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/docs/ha/heartbeat_ldirectord.html

In haresources, heartbeat manages the IP address and ldirectord
process on the load balancers.

I think I would rather have ldirectord always running (using inittab
with a respawn) and have heartbeat manage the virtual IP address.

Is there a downside to always having ldirectord running on both
load balancers?

Thanks,
        Neil
