Yes, I use Debian kernels, actually I'm one of the maintainers :)

To clarify, you get this problem on the 686 and 686-smp flavours
of both 2.6.8 and 2.6.11 on debian, when using hyperthreading.
I should be able to reproduce that, but it will have to wait until
the new week.
