Unfortunately I agree with the reasoning. For people who want an announcement
and nothing else, only an announce-list will do.
I'm on several other lists that have an announce and it is a pain to remember
which postings to send to announce and which to send to users and which to
send to both. Also the announce list needs a passwd (usually), you have
to remember how to send to it. Since the regular subscribers can't post
to it, the person handling the mailing list has to watch all the bounces
from replies to the announce list.
I regard announce lists as a pain myself. However if you want to cater to
those people who want an announce list then you have to create one. Do
we want to deal with this for one person?
