thank you

agree.

mini-HOWTO was written quite a while ago to make sure anyone
could get an LVS up without us having to answer the same questions
over and over. It's satisfied the original requirement.
The configure script was written for the same reason. It checks
everything and will give informative errors no matter what you've
done to mess up your setup. It's a behemoth for sure, but it was
also written to be idiot proof. With the arrival of more
sophisticated setup tools, its time has past.

As you've found, there is a regular command line setup there.

Either LVS users are more sophisticated now or the mini-HOWTO
is handling all the little problems, because we don't hear
many people with those same questions anymore.

If I was writing the HOWTOs now, I would just put in the command line
setup. However back then, there weren't any configure tools at all
and it wasn't obvious when or whether any would arrive.

The question then is whether to rewrite it.
I spent a lot of time checking the examples and to go back and start
from scratch and check a new HOWTO would probably take me 6months.
No-one's volunteered to pay me for 6 months, so it will have to
stay the way it is for a while.

Thanks for the suggestions
