I'm currently using a couple of RS with the VIP on their loopback 
devices. Both servers are RHL7.3 (kernel 2.4.20-18.7).
Moreover I've just tried the same network configuration (arp flag set to 
off) on a RHAS 3 (kernel 2.4.21-4.EL): it worked fine!
