I had similar problems that were caused by firewall issues.
Looking at my firewall now I thibnk it is perhaps multicast traffic
following protocol 112.
Once I fixed the firewall issues things started working.
Sorry I don't have clearer description.
We don't have any iptables rules on these boxes at all. We see IP 112 on
the other NICs (the every second "I'm the master" broadcast), but we
never see any traffic at all on the "sync" nic.
Do you have the proper config parameters, putting the sync on its
own interface?
I'm using keepalived and it has (among many others) the config parameter:
lvs_sync_deamon_interface eth5
to control the interface used for the sync traffic.
