1.) I am getting the error:
warning: ./configure has not been tested with kernel version 2.4.18
parse_hostname: error: gethostbyname failure - Couldn't lookup hostname lvs
: No such file or directory
whenever I run the configure script that comes with configure-lvs_0.9.2
2.) After getting the above error, I started having trouble with my
interfaces. This does not mean they are related in any way, but I though
I'd throw it out there:
I have configured my eth1 device with 7 ip addresses 10.80.1.5, *.11, *.20,
*.30, *.40, *.41, *.50 where 11, 20, 30, 40 and 50 are intended to be my
LVS ips and 5 is my nameserver and 41 is my apache->weblogic proxy.
After attempting to configure LVS, none of my interface aliases will come
up except ifconfig-eth1 (10.80.1.5), ifconfig-eth1:1 (10.80.1.11) and
eth1:2 (10.80.1.20). I simply get the error "SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign
requested address"
This started hapening after I moved the ipaddresses 10.80.1.5 and
10.80.1.41 over to eth1 (they were formally ifconfig-eth0 and
ifconfig-eth0:1 respectively) and after I started attempting to configure
ipvs. I was forced to move all my addresses to the same interface as the
virtual servers after discovering that my host only had a port for one of
my NICs. I am running the lvs_dr.conf.one_NIC_one_network configure script
(with my own network scheme of course).
