the usual method is for the realservers to route through a NIC _not_ on
the director. If you want to route through the director, see
Julian's martian modification in the HOWTO.

yes, this is called LVS-DR with a one-NIC director in the HOWTO.

this works too. It's called LVS-DR with a 2 NIC director. You
also need to have a path from the realsevers directly to the internet,
and not via the director (you don't have this path in this diagram),
if you're using the standard LVS-DR setup.
