Thanks - I have also looked at Foundry Networks ServerIron, which has
comparable feature list, but for much less $$!
Hum... I have worked with LVS, F5/Bigip or 3DNS and Foundry Networks
ServerIron.
Foundry are good product, they boot in less than 10 seconds (!!!).....
But it doesn't have the same flexibility of a Unix with some additions
as F5 or LVS...
F5 is the more complete one and flexibile one. It's price is just a bit
too expensive... ;) But functionalities are here... You can have a box
with 3Dns and Big/Ip on same hardware... :p
However Foundry has some problems :
- switch back (how reach a vip behind a real server ?)
- it does not support high temperatures (I have lots of them blown when
temperature is more
than 35°C in bay).
