LVS is to balance amongst a pool of servers. You want to have either server_a
OR server_b. This is a failover setup. You will want to reconfigure your router
when a server fails. One solution is Linux-HA or the VRRP part of keepalived.
As I think you realise, this is not a good solution for your client's customers
(who just want service). However the client is paying you the money to do
what they say, rather than asking you to deliver a certain level of service,
so you have to give the client what they want.
