We do 10-14 million page views, which is 35,995,306 requests, last month. We have dual 3.0GHz P4's with a GB of RAM. Average load is 0.00. I'd be more than comfortable saying that you could do 100,000,000 requests a month with the same hardware. Probably more. I know of a site that does 30 million page views with a couple of dual PIII 750MHz servers with little to no load.

i mean, for example - how many millions of connections per day, and
concurrent connections could an athlon64 2800 handle? an opteron
1.8ghz? 512, 1, 2 gig RAM? dual processors?

still wanting to hear some specifics so i can sleep easier at night
knowing i'm making the right hardware selection...

thanks in advance.
