this is from the HOWTO:


   The cure(s) (pick one):

   2.1.2.2.1. Patch the 2.2.x realservers -
(returns the ip_alias arp behaviour to kernel 2.0.36 behaviour,
although using different code). This is foolproof and
conceptually simplest, the VIP on the realservers will not
reply to arp requests no matter how you configure the LVS.
